A family-owned property for several generations

The Estate, the family, the team

Château Turcan has been a family-owned property for several generations. In the 1860’s the founder, Louis Turcan, was a pharmacist in Pertuis. He was also the city’s mayor and today a street there bears his name. He called himself “pharmacist winegrower”!

Passionate about grapevines, he was one of the first in the commune of Ansouis to plant vines and make his own wine at a time when it was certainly not the fashionable thing to do.

Since then, his descendants have carefully maintained, modernized and kept-up the domain, and the family imprint remains prominent in the winery and its products. The family , in particular the Laugier brothers, have used all means available to draw the best out of the land and its grapes. This symbiosis between the family and their land is what gives the wines their personality. All the care given to the soil, the plant and the fruit is directed at preserving this identity.

The team, who has been present at the domain for years, ensures both the cultivation and the winemaking . With dedication and commitment they constantly monitor the land, and treat each plot on the basis of the analysis and observation of the plant life. A local oenologist and a famous consultant from Bordeaux, supervises it all with authority and diplomacy !
