The Wine arts and crafts museum

From the vine to the glass

This place of culture and sharing invites you to the discovery of more than 3000 objects exhibited on 1300 m² and showcasing the labours and pleasures of the vine and wine,

This collection of current practise tools as well as outstanding even artistic objects is unique as it covers the entire process that leads from the vineyard to the glass.

From the vine to the wine

A panel of tools dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries bears witness of the care given to the vine from its plantation to the harvest of the grapes before the emergence of technology. An impressive collection of pumps, manual, mechanical or electrical illustrates the proceedings in the cellar: airing, decanting and changing vats, tanks and barrels.

Le Carré des Pressoirs

Under a vast hall of 400m ² fourteen monumental presses are gathered dating back to the late Middle Ages to the early 20th century. From 2kg to 17 tons. You will be surprised by the ingenuity of our ancestors winemakers!

The laboratory

Looking at this laboratory of the 1900s, discover the analysis instruments needed by cellar masters and oenologists in the ancient times: microscopes to observe yeasts, mustimeters to evaluate the density of the must, ebulliometers or ebullioscopes to measure the alcohol content.

Cooperage

The strength and especially the tightness of the barrel are a challenge for the cooper. The reconstituted workshop gives an example of the complexity of the tools and techniques used for the manufacture and assembly of the staves and the heads of the casks.

Glassware

The set of glassware exhibited illustrates the storing, serving and consumption of wine since Antiquity. The collection of bottles is impressive: you will also admire bottles, carafes and very precious glasses, dating back, for the oldest ones, to the 15th century.

The Gallery of Masterpieces

In this section are exhibited the most outstanding pieces of our Museum: masterpieces of companions and objects of mastery with remarkable aesthetic and technical qualities.

The winery and the museum are welcoming you:

  • From Mars 1st to June 15th and from September 15st to October 31th :
    10h – 12h30 and 14h30 – 18h from tuesday to saturday except Wednesdays morning.
  • From November 1st to February 28st :
    10h – 12h and 14h30 – 17h30from tuesday to saturday except Wednesdays morning.
  • From June 16th to September 14th
    10h – 12h30 and 15h – 19h30 Everyday
